Cartier
In 1847 Louis-Francois Cartier takes over the workshop of his master, Adolphe Picard, at rue Montorgueil in Paris. The premises becomes bigger and bigger and in 1853 opens up to private clientele. In 1899. Alfred Cartier, son of the founder, chooses the prestigious address of 13 rue de la Paix for his new premises, at the very heart of Parisian elegance and luxury.
